Our 2013 hop harvest special release, fRYEd Fresh-Hopped Rye Pale Ale, will be fresh-hopped* with Chinooks from the Still Wind Hop Farm on Colorado’s Western Slope imparting tropical fruit notes to its flavor and aroma. Generous amounts of toasted rye add complexity with a spicy, nutty flavor.
*Brewing with fresh off the bine (not vine!) wet hops! This provides a unique hop experience with a more complete hop flavor and aroma due to the presence of volatile oils that are normally evaporated out during the drying process. These fresh hop flowers must be used within 24 hours of harvest!
Available exclusively on draft. 6% ABV / 40 IBU

Draft in the Minneapolis Airport. Hazy Amber color, lasting white head. Aroma is mild Rye and earthy hops. Body is medium with light caramel base. The hop flavor is herbal with mild bitterness. As it warmed up a slight hint of butter peaks through and pretty much kills the flavor profile. This beer is actually better cold which is NEVER a good thing! This need a bit of work.

On tap at the mad mex. Smells kindly hoppy. Cloudy orange I think, dark in this place. Decent co2 from the start. Not overly bitter yet asserts its hoppy flavors. Goes down pretty easy. Not bad! Better than expected. Yes, carries some hop personality with a slight hop bitterness but never is it over the top or in yer face. Some what sticks to the back of yer throat. Not bad overall.

Tap @ Black Bottle. Pours a bit hazy orange appearance with a khaki head. Kind of goopy malty, orange citrusy, lightly floral aroma. Somewhat spicy, yet goopy/thick malty, a bit grainy, caramel flavor. Not a ton of rye and an overall pretty disappointing offering.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours amber copper with a creamy white head. Aroma of fruity hop. Med body, almost. Flavor is a little caramel, some rye spice, and fruity hop. Includes a citrus touch. Tasty, but flavors aren’t really strong. Finishes dryish, spiceish, and a bit bitterish.
