Oktoberfest is our seasonal Marzen Style Lager. Originally brewed a couple of hundred years ago to celebrate the betrothal of the Crown Prince of Bavaria, we’re helping keep the tradition alive by brewing Oktoberfest every fall for our most royal/loyal followers. Blue Point Oktoberfest is a rare example of the traditional German Oktoberfest style, particularly on the East coast where autumn seasonals are more common.

This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a semi-hazy burnt orange color with a slight transparency about it. A light one finger white foamy head dissipated within less than about thirty seconds. Foamy rings of lacing glazed around the glass.
The aroma had a big sweet maltiness with a sweet nutty and toffee combination that smelled nicely.
The taste was mainly sweet with a light roastiness in the nuts and toffee. There’s a quick semi-sweet/roasty nutty aftertaste running into the same sort of finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sweet to crisp sessionability about it. Carbonation was fairly light allowing the sweet nuttiness to roll over my tongue in a semi-sticky sort of way.
Overall, nice Oktoberfest, I’d have again.

Bottle at Crios. Poured a clear amber color, small white head. Aroma was some light sweet malts. Flavor was about the same with a touch of spicey grains, earthy hop notes. Okay.

Good easy drinking. Reasonably good drinking for style. Slight booze and some barley. German taste, they got the style right. Light bitter finish with some sourness. Bottle at Crios.

Drought. Light amber color with small whitish foamy head, faint grassy aroma, fizzy, very little hops, abrupt finish. Not very remarkable.

Malty though there is some earthy, mineral bitterness. Some nutmeg as well as a good dose of spices that are just right.

12 oz. bottle. Color is clear, light amber. Carbonation is average. Head is fingernails long, leaving spotty lace. Nose is solely caramel. Decent flavors of caramel malt, sweet bread and a spicy hop. Kind of a grassy hop. Body is light. Texture is kind of syrupy. All-in-all it is a typical fest, but enjoyable.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled 7/30/2012. Pours lightly hazy golden orange color with a nice 2 finger dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice foamy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of pear, apple, caramel, biscuit, toast, grass, herbal, and light earth. Very nice aromas with good strength and balance. Taste of caramel, pear, apple, toast, biscuit, grass, herbal, and light spiciness. Lingering notes of caramel, light fruits, toast, biscuit, and herbal on the finish for a bit. Nice balance of all flavors with no cloying sweetness at all. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy and slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Oktoberfest! Spot on style flavor profile with great balance; extremely smooth to drink. Really enjoyable and true to style all the way.
