Originally brewed to celebrate the beginning of the German brewing season and the 1810 wedding of crown prince Ludwig of Bavaria and his bride-to-be, princess Therese of Saxon-Hildburghausen. This amber beer was brewed in March ("Marzenbier") and left to age in cool lagering caves during the heat of the summer. Our rich and satisfying Bavarian-style OctoberFest comes from a special blend of imported German malts that creates a full-bodied brew and stresses a malty flavor and lingering aroma. Gently hopped and delicately balanced, its true-to-style, slow fermentation and long, cold maturation produces a luxuriously smooth, award-winning brew. (previously spelled "Octoberfest")

12 oz bottle, 10/4/15. Aroma has caramel and toasted malts, some grassy and earthy hops, and a bit of spice. Tastes similar, slightly hopped up version of the style, as the malts get a little muted in the flavor. Drinks fine, though one could argue it leans a little too watery for the style. Not bad.

35 cl botle from a retailer in Manhattan, NY. Pours orange color, hazed, short creamy offhite head. Syrupy and hearty nose. Aroma: malt syrup, molasses and dough, yeast. There’s a more than decent hoppines, what i was hop(p)ing for. Somewhat fruity, very earthy, yet quite smooth. Taste malty-sweet with a nice bitter finish. Full bodied, average carbonation, smooth finish. Similarities: christoffel and Veltins Garvensteiner (unfiltered pilseners), very tasty, liked.

Bottle. Pours murky reddish amber with small off-white head. Dusty and malty aroma with sparse hoppy notes. Bitter, hoppy flavour with notes of malt and dust. Bitter finish. Decent but tastes more of an Altbier than an Oktoberfest.

Bottle I picked up as part of a mix six. Pours a clear a clear amber with a slight ruby hue and a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice grain and bread note with a hint of sweetness and light floral hops. Flavor similar with a drinkable grain note with a bit of sweet bread and just a hint of light fruit.
