West Coast Pale Ale w/ BC Cascade Hops
Introducing Easy Mode, a West Coast Pale Ale made in collaboration with @galintgaming‘s Battle of BC: Canada’s Premier Fighting Game event taking place June 5-7th at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
BOBC brings in competitors from around the world, so we wanted to make something that celebrates British Columbia, while being easy to drink whether you’re in the sticks, or on the sticks.
We start with a base of BC pilsner malt (with just a touch of Munich) and BC Cascade hops, and finish it with a generous dry hop of Simcoe and Amarillo for a classic PNW flavour profile. Grapefruit, orange, stone fruit, and pine come together with a crisp, balanced, and dry finish, provided by a fermentation with a lager yeast.

On tap at Threefold. Pours clear gold with a white head. Lots of dank piney hops and biscuit malts on the nose. Flavour is a bit more dialed back, but still has a nice resinous pine character, biscuit malts, some dank oils. Not the most evocative hops, but the balance with the malts is good. Very solid west coast pale.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 2026/05/19). Clear yellow gold with full white head. Soft woody pine hops with clean biscuit malt. Okay, understated.

On tap at Threefold, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has gentle woody pine and crisp biscuity malt in good, restrained cohesion. Flavour is crisp and clean, with quite a vibrant woody, piney hop expression, with a dry biscuity malt base. Vibrant, piney, potent hop expression for a 5% pale, with excellent balance. Great stuff.
