Summertime requires a crisp, refreshing brew to beat the heat. If you can’t be soaking up the lakeside sun or cannonballing into your favorite swimming hole, then pop the top on our Vermont Lager and enjoy the next best thing. Our Green Mountain homage to the classic European-style lager, we used German Pilsen malt and, in true Vermont fashion, a whole lot of Noble hops to give off a big hop aroma that makes this summer seasonal a real head-turner.

Pale amber color, mostly like most other lagers out there. A little spicy, which was not what I expected. Eh, just okay.

Hazy golden color with a thin white head. Sweet aroma with some hints of corn. Slight sweet flavor then dominated by corn and grain flavors.

12/07/2004 bottle, batch 1629, consumed 3/30/2005. Great aroma as I pop the cap. Soft, heathery hops with light tangerine notes, vanilla, honey and just a light trace of corn (not adjuncts, just a byproduct of the malt). Clear, copper-gold body, with a thin white head that recedes to a ring. Flavor is cornmeal, lightly sour yeast, touch of soap and clean mineral water. Not much else going on, though I wanted to like this. The body is ample, though. Medium to medium-light, fluffy. Engaging yet easygoing carbonation. A bit low on the pH with too much sour/acid coming through. I guess I’m getting tougher on lagers though. . .as this stuff really isn’t that bad, IMHO.

Clear yellow beer with white head. Nice biscuity aroma, which comes in the mouth too, with very balanced sgharp german hops. Good body fro a lager.
