Based on the "Bavarian" style beer that Narragansett produced in the '60s and '70s, this elegant Oktoberfest style Marzen is brewed with the highest quality German malt and hops. Weyermann's Munich malt creates a rich bready and toasty base, while the noble Tettnang hops add a crisp, but subtle and dry spiced finish. King Gambrinus would be proud!

Sixer of tall boys for 10 bucks. Clearish coppery pour thin head. Some caramel malts. Kinda thin but good for tossing into a stein and draining

Going a ways back on this one, thanks Patrick - quite crisp for a marzen.

Pounder can for $2. After the big rocky white head pour, my first taste impressions is it possesses the bitterness of inexperienced home brewers, uncivilized, but not a hop bitterness, more like a brewing problem bitterness; astringent fer sure. Straight up ass bitterness - do you think I like this bullshit stuff masked as a fest beer? Go figger, an insult to the narragansett name. ABV? Has the rude ass taste of a high alky domestic malt likker but the label acts like its some cool beer form the old country? Come now. But hey, after the first 12 ounces I start to think; well just maybe, it aint THAT bad, or is it? Yes, very astringent to the end. Yep, quite disappointing. There you have it. Could not appreciate. Six pack from Total Wine - Richmond. Amber pour with a small foamy head. Malty aroma and taste, although a bit musty too. Very close to style

Surprised hadn’t had that one yet. Clear caramel colored brew and small foamy head. Nose is bready and some sweet malt. Tastes malty, caramel, pumpernickel, some Fruit. Fairly dry and not al that crisp.

Pours clear amber with a bubbly white head. Aroma of caramel malt. Taste has somewhat sweetened malt, slightly nutty flavor, moderate bitterness. Palate has slightly viney notes, hints of burnt nuts, hops. Weird.

Can. Amber body with off-white, amber-tinted head. Aroma of caramel, toasted grain, bread. Sweet to start, light to moderate bitterness to finish. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. Caramel, bready taste. Fairly standard Oktoberfest.
