On tap at the brewery, pours a murky, deep brown with a ring of white head. Nose of malt, smoke, BBQ sauce, bread. Flavor is bready, smoke, light soy, malty, earthy, Full bodied, dry finish.

32 oz crowler from Al’s of Hampden poured into a snifter. Black with a finger of tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, caramel, subtle smoke, roasty notes. Tastes of dark chocolate, balanced smoke, coffee, roasty notes, a bit of soy sauce. Nicely done!

Growler from the brewery shared at a tasting. Pours a clear dark brown with a large creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of strong smoke, roasted malt, chocolate, hints of vanilla. The taste is roasted malt, chocolate, strong smoke, mild stone fruits. Medium bodied, lingering smoke.

Draft at the source. Dark brown color, brown head with delicate lacing. Aroma of burnt espresso, smouldering embers, burnt toast. Taste is black coffee, charred bacon. Very tasty.
