Draft at Meridian Pint. Clear pale yellow color, bright white head. Aroma of floral straw, subtle black pepper. Taste is floral, fruity, mildly bitter. Very light and easy to drink for a 7%er. Well done!

Draft at Churchkey for a Bells tap takeover event. Aroma and flavor is slight malty fruits. Flavor had some corn flake cereal notes, very light malty notes. Sweetness. It’s not the best beer I’ve ever had, but If this is accurate to the original beer produced by Heurich as they say, the loss of this beer was a crushing blow to DC when they had to shut down because of Prohibition and then their eventual final closure in the 50s.

I’d buy this lager if DC Brau started mass producing it. On an unrelated note, as I write this review I’m staring at two empty bottles sitting on my shelf of The Olde Heurich Brewing’s Foggy Bottom beer which was discontinued back in 2006.

Sampled at the brewery. Pours a hazy yellow with some foamy, white head. Grassy nose, lemon, bread, chive, straw. Flavor is malty and sweet, bread, crackers, lemon, straw, grass, a little corn. Clean finish. Very nice.
