Bottle thanks to Brian! Pours opaque black with a medium creamy brown head that lasts a long time and laces well. Aroma is quite coffee forward, backed by rich roasted malts and dark chocolate. Flavor is the same, rich mocha flavors, light plus sweet and strong bitter; perhaps too strong. Fair amount of acid from the coffee as well. Lingering bitterness to the far far finish. Fairly full body, fairly creamy. Why does it have to be so bitingly bitter? You know, sometimes you need to come to terms with a beer. What was blindingly bitter at first mellowed out after breathing (and or killing my tastebuds) and turned into something wholly enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is coffee, dark chocolate, roast. Thick mouthfeel with sweet roasted malt, coffee with nice smoke finish. Good.

Pitch black pour with thin tan head and some lacing. Aroma is lots of coffee, roasty, hops, slight dark fruit. Coffee flavors, roast, then hoppy bitterness. Lingering boozy bitter coffee finish. Delicious stout with none of the soy/raisiny flavors characteristic of similar imperial stouts.

,,, 28-02-2014 pinta (primer día de pinchado ) y botella a la vez en el lúpulo. Intensos sabores y aromas a café y maltas tostadas. Sensación alcohólica bastante intensa pero equilibrada gracias al gran sabor de las maltas. Ligeros amargos después de todo el café y tostados que persisten en boca un tiempo. Cuerpo intenso con 10.1 vol maravillosos. Color negro intenso con espuma bastante oscura que desaparece hacia la mitad. Muy muy buena. --Grifo-- sabores y aromas bastante intensos a café y tostados y maltosos todo ello bastante bien conjuntado y equilibrado. --Botella-- sabores y aromas mas contenidos y frescos al principio en frío pero con mayor sensación alcohólica y mayor amargor seco final que perdura en boca un buen rato. Sensación de licor un poco mas acentuada y paso por boca mas ligero. Final-- muy parecidas las dos al calentar, mas fina y alcohólica la botella, mas ""tosca"" y con mas sabores de cebadas la caña.Las dos son grandes e increíbles, me quedo con la botella, pero por un pelo.,,, 08-03-2014de nuevo con ella, pierde algo de sabores tostados y quemados y gana en sensación alcohólica bastante. Sigue estando muy buena pero un poco mas por debajo de la botella.,,, 12-03-2014 La sensación alcohólica ha bajado y aumentado los sabores quemados, tostados y sobretodo de café y mas café. Muy muy buena. ,,, 18-03-2014 Se acabo... muy concentrada con gran sensación alcohólica. El café disminuye y prácticamente es tostados muy alcohólicos. ............ Pinta en Cimmeria 06..02..2016 de nuevo nos vemos.... 2 día de pinchado. Negro intenso con espuma fina oscura y persistente. Gran sabor a maltas tostadas, algo quemadas con una sobredosis de café y achicorias acabando con amargo final ligeramente seco y duradero. Perfecta combinación de sabores muy equilibrados y con un cuerpo pastoso fino y sedoso, todo ello aderezado con una buena sensación alcohólica de principio a fin de 10.1 vol. Inmensa....

Sehr dunkelbraunes Bier mit schöner beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch intensiv röstmalzig, schokoladig, Toffee, Kaffee. Geschmack sehr röstmalzig süß, schokoladig, Kaffee. Wunderbares Imperial Stout.

375 ml bottle @ Cardinal. Pitch black body with a small, brown head. Strong aroma of dark medium roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Flavor is sweet, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and quite bitter. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste. A nice one for sure, more balanced and expected for an imperial stout of this caliber.

Black. Pale brown head. Aroma of bitter coffee and dark chocolate. Similar taste, but also with vanilla. Hints of cigar box. Long aftertaste.
