Aaahhh what a lovely Tasmanian beast. Highly recommendable Black as the deepest dungeon and a fine beige head. Ok lacing Fine intensity in the aroma Balanced sweetness and bitterness. Fine duration! Also a fine mellow carbonation level. Very easy to drink Dark malt, roast, chocolate and espresso [Can from a trade with jinroh] Brewery #2267 Australian region #6

Well, this is just a lot of everything. Aromas of chocolate, toast, unroasted coffee berries and some lemon lead into a taste that could be summed up as rum and raisin pudding with a chocolate sauce. Not for the feint hearted.

Tap, StK Local Taphouse. Black, dark tan head has sticky lacing. Aroma is of moderate amounts of dark roast, licorice, bitter chocolate, vanilla, coffee and a little woodsmoke. The aroma is nice enough, but rather restrained. Its taste is less restrained, with roasted bitterness, cocoa and lots of vanilla. Very lovely silky texture. There’s no real fruit character (which is why, even though it was listed as imperial stout and there were distinct wood notes, I’m guessing this was not the barrel-aged version). Not sweet at all. A very long, moderately bitter finish is hoppy as well as roasted and has some salt. Tap, Hart’s Pub. 8.5%ABV. Black with a small but dense tan head. Aroma of chocolate, burnt toffee, bourbon, oak, citrus, pine. Sweetness in the taste countered by quite a lot of hop bitterness. Alcohol well hidden. Intense but not brash. Fine beer.
