This doppelbock is modeled, in spirit, after the famous Samichlaus lager originally hailing from Switzerland (and now Austria). To further drive home the natural chocolatey notes in this lager, we fully rested the batch on cocoa nibs.
Notes of caramel, dark chocolate, molasses and French roast coffee beans fade into a balanced baker's cocoa bitterness. Finishes with a delicate alcohol warmth.

16 oz can from the brewery.
The flavor has layers of malt. Caramel, toffee, raisins, fig. The Cacao nibs show in the finish. The alcohol is mellow and the sweetness helps cover it up for sure. Has a mild alcohol warming is felt after the sip. It warms the belly without showing alcohol in the taste.
The brewer was going for Samichlaus Classic and hit his mark. Well done sir!
