Caligo is a blend of a Nevel-made Farmhouse Ale and a three-year old Gerste from HenkeBier.

When Nevel announced they were calling it quits, we figured we’d give them a hand; clearing out their barrel stock and do something fun while we were at it. We bought a full barrel of wild saison and gave it the HenkeBier treatment; we blended in some of our own beer. The result is a blend of wild saison and classic Dutch gerste, aged for around three years in oak. Bottled on the 16th of July 2025.

Bottle, directly from Mark Henke. Color: Hazy golden, white head. Aroma: Fruity, floral and herbal. Taste: A blend of fruity (lime, citrus fruit, white berries, hints of stone fruit), floral and herbal notes. Moderate tartness, very light bitterness. Oak wood notes too. Subtle funky. Dry finish, tannins. Medium body, below average carbonation.
