Initium is Latin for the beginning. This lager honours the start of Carlsberg in 1847 and the newly founded Home of Carlsberg. Brewmaster Chris Thurgeson combed Carlsberg’s oldest brewing records, resulting in a stunning lager with a rich, malty profile, perfect for vintage keeping.

This was the last of the evening tasting and was paired with a strawberry goo in a rock hard pastry case. It wasn't great and neither was this beer. If you are into barley wines then you would probably love this, but I really didn't dig it. All too much and everyone else on the table agreed.
