Bottle. Pours opaque black, small tan head, some lacing. Aroma is prominently, but not overpoweringly, smoky, light cocoa, molasses, roasted coffee. Flavor is light sweet, medium bitter, plenty of smoke. Medium plus body, creamy mouthfeel. Inching toward meaty.

Bomber from Nick, thanks. Pours a jet black color with a medium white head. A smooth mostly chocolates, some smoke nose. The flavor is a pretty big roast, smoke, oats, light dark fruit, some metallic bitter dark chocolate that reminds me of Guinness Special Export, more smoky sweet goodness in the finish. Sweet brown sugar beef jerky. Very nice. A good palate.

500th Imperial Stout tick. Fitting it is with a stellar beer such as this. Yes!
22oz bottle courtesy of GT2. It pours with a deep dark mahogany colored body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up pure yumminess with dark roasted malts, some toffee, a thicket of malts and chocolate as well as silky smooth and light bacony smokiness. All this is very well balanced and integrated, intoxicating aroma. The taste does not disappoint as it delivers malt and chocolate brownie sweetened dark roasted maltiness, a sliver of a toffee sort of note that is pure yum and then smooth bacon smokiness that is at just the right level to create flavor harmony. Wow! Well executed.

On tap at the brewpub. A more or less black one, topped by a dense tan head leaving curtains. Roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, molasses and a faint bonfire touch in the aroma. Sweetness and some alcohol warmth in the mouth. Full body, very soft on there palate. A nice bitterness lasts for a good while, both of the roasted and hoppy kind. A really pleasant one, probably better on a colder day, but I can’t say I suffered drinking it in the heat. 130813

Draft - Bitter chocolate, roasted malts and a touch of smoke. Jet black with a rich tan head. Oaky, smokey, coffee, chocolate and a great body. Simple but superb, especially since they serve BBQ. A slight acrid bitter finish, like char but still pretty good.

Draft at the source. Exceedingly dark maroon color, beige edge head. Aroma of milk chicolate. Taste is Hersheys syrup. Decent.
