Borefts Beer Festival 5. Day 1. Bottle share - thanks to whoever bought this along. Pretty much a clear peach coloured beer. No real head. Palate is light and crisp. Sour cherry, raspberry and a touch of hazlenuts. Very acid, it burns on the way down. Rubbish.

Sampled this from a bottle (I think thx to Martinus) @ Borefts ’13. Orange colour, clear and no head. Looks a bit dead. Smells vinegar and quite overwhelmingly sour. Tastes unpleasantly sour and astringent. Not very fruity. Thin to medium body and hardly any carbo. Not my beer.

Growler at BBF’13, thanks Tinus. Hazy pink colour, off-white head. Aroma is sour cherries, acid, funk, poo. Flavour is alright, sour, tart cherries, lemon acid, finish is sour, grainy, some plastic, wet earth. Light-bodied.

Growler shared by Martinus at Borefts, 2013. Pretty salmon pink color, light bubbles. Nose of cherries, cream, shit. Nice cherry flavor, lactic, with leather, dust, vinegar. Stinky, but soft and oily palate. Good.

Sampled from bottle thanks to Martinus. Clear light reddish color, no head. Smell sourness and some fruits. Taste is very sour, almost acidic, sour red fruits. Too sour for me.

Light pinkish red colour, reminding of rubarb. No head. Fruity aroma, big on the lambic character, citrus, strawberry and funk. Sour flavour, tart, citrus, light red fruits, rubarb sour. Fruity sour finish.
Nice, bit low on the fruits for a kriekenlambiek, but quite refreshing.
(Draught @ WoSF, Opstal 2013. Thanks for sharing, Uli! Part of Uli’s blind tasting of fruit lambics. One of the two I had correct myself -the other one being the Cantillon kriekenlambik. Uli showed the way to do it correctly though: 8 out of 10 correct.)

Tap at WoSF, 2013. It pours light red with a small white head. The nose is barnyard, earth, sweet cherry, red apple, red grape and no real tartness.... The taste is sharp lemon, moderate acidity, sour cherry, raspberry, red grape skin and cherry pip with a dry, tart finish. Not a whole lot to it, but it is pretty tasty.

Straight from the barrel at the brewery, barrel from ’09, so 3 yr old. Clear pale reddish color. Lovely cherry aroma, good tartness. Great fruitiness, good tartness in taste as well. Wonderful stuff again.
