On tap at the brewpub. Brown body and a light beige head. Lightly roasted, with coffee, chocolate and a touch of hops in the aroma. Decent bitterness in the mouth, soft and quite dry. Roasted flavor with coffee and chocolate. Lasting finish. Sure a nice brown ale, going well with the bbq food at the brewpub. 130813

Draft - Roast malts dominate with some smoke. Dark amber with a thin beige head. Toasted malts, biscuit and some caramel in the finish. I don’t get the hips, but I do get a nice bitterness that cuts what would be a very sweet beer.

On tap at the brewery. Pours with a clear, medium brown hued body with a large tan head that lasts and leaves excellent lace. Aromas are nutty, rich, malty, chocolate, walnuts. Some spicy and earthy, resiny hop character (medium hop strength in the aroma). Flavors are good. A very solid american brown ale! Nutty, malty, chocolate, chestnut, walnuts. Good bitterness with a near neutral balance. Leathery, bready, earthy warm. Medium citrus and slightly resiny hop character. Clean. Medium bubbles, a touch low on body (only real complaint on this beer). Medium dry. Very well crafted American Brown Ale.
