Had this on Draft at J. Ryan’s in Syracuse two weeks ago. I debated about rating this at all. Normally if I really don’t like something, I simply will not rate it. But with this one people should be warned. This is a peppercorn bomb pretending to be a saison. The nose was nice with Belgian yeast and peppercorn with herbs. Problem is the taste is so over whelming with peppercorns it was like drinking cracked pepper mixed with spicy Mexican peppers. After 4 oz. it nearly made me choke. I passed it to my buddy who had a very hard time with it as well. Over the top would be an understatement. Drinkers be warned.

Bomber from Malt and Vine. Pours translucent gold with a slight white head. Aroma of pepper, but there seems to be a little wintergreen along with it. Med minus body. Flavor is very peppery. Not in a capsaicin way. It’s just a bit undry. Just a light touch earthy. Makes me think of a Belgian tripel that’s been spiced up. Certainly drinkable. Certainly somewhat off the usual path.

From tap at City Tap House. Pours hazy orange with a small off white head. Aroma is solid peppered. Citric, spiced, herbal and caramelish. Thyme like. Light vegetables note. Spiced and herbal dry finish. Interesting, yet also challenging.

22 oz. bottle, pours a clear copper wig a medium white head. Aroma is full of the peppercorns, drowning out pretty much everything else. Flavour brings out Belgian yeast, candied sugar, and loads of peppercorns. The integration of the peppercorns works fairly well actually. Spicy, but easy drinking. Decent.

Bottle. Hazy deep golden color, small fluffy white head. Aroma of dusty lemons and peppercorns forgotten in the barnyard. Taste has black pepper up front followed by funky lemons. Pepper reappears in the finish (if it ever left).
