On tap at Cask and Vine. Solid opaque with a huge tan head that persists forever. Aromas of roast, coffee, caramel, dark fruit, light chocolate. Is this a porter or a stout? The flavor is heavy on the roasted grains, big caramel and light chocolate with a hint of smoke. Light earthy hop flavor and a spice from the rye add a bit of complexity. Medium to thick body with a moderate level of carbonation and sweet creamy ashy mouthfeel. This is a big porter that feels like a stout at times, but its so damn good who cares about labels? Beautiful beer, I wish I could have had another.

2 separate 4 oz. tasters @ BL. As well as a full pint @ Poppers at the Mill, NewMarket, NH. Pours pitch black, with a medium, tan head. Nice milk chocolate aroma, with some toasted bread and spicy rye. Very sweet and smooth flavor, with none of the normal burnt hints, not overly Smokey. However, a nice level of peat. Nice rye spiciness through the finish. Coffee and vanilla notes. Medium to heavy body, smooth and creamy texture. Awesome porter!

Draft at the source. Black color, thick brown head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of pumpernickel, spiced brown bread, burnt coffee, cocoa. Taste is rich cocoa and coffee grounds, subtle smoke. Wow!

Dark brown to black. A finger of pillow like creamy head Very heavy with chocolate and rye. Husky smoked malts Nice smoky presence. No campfire at all. The rye comes through and there’s this fantastic blend of smoke, rye, and toffee / cocoa. Very interesting and unique. Might be great with a touch of vanilla and bourbon!!! Very creamy mouthfeel and fun to swish
