A refreshing blonde beer, built around the purity of the very spring on which the brewery stands. Brewed with Golden Promise barley malt, Strisselspalt hops from Alsace, and UK-grown Cascade and Chinook hops. It’s an easy-drinking beer with floral and citrus aromas, hints of orange zest on the tongue followed by aromatic hop flavours to finish. It works beautifully with delicate seafood, chicken burgers, or scampi and tartare sauce.

Cask at Crewe Dog, Cree. Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with a small foamy off-white head and good lacing. There’s grains and biscuit malts in the aroma plus some hoppy traces. In the mouth it is sweet with a creamy texture. Main flavours are mixed hops and citrus with hints of nuts and peel. Some traces of summer fruits later as well. Some bitterness in the dry finish. This is quite decent.

A brand new Taylor beer is a rare thing, so is visiting one of their pubs, so this is a double-whammy for me. The new blonde is clear light golden in colour, hoppy and very sessionable, and perfect for this sunny day out in North Yorkshire. It's traditional in design, no more than that, but I'd expect nothing more from one of the regions last bastions of historic beer making.

Clear and golden with a creamy white head and a delicate biscuit malt aroma. Smooth and creamy, light biscuit malt, floral hops, sweet fruity notes and a dry, very slightly bitter finish.
