Tallboy can from Brennan’s Brookfield. Hazy copper, large foamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of dank hops and grainy toffee malt. The taste is pine, resin, grainy malt. A bit of grapefruit zest. Medium bodied, strong lingering bitterness. Solid.

12oz bottle pours with a copper body, thin gold edges and a slight haze while supporting a thin white head. The aroma offers up pine hops, sweet malts and sort of a caramel toffee note. Not a very hoppy aroma. The taste is big with pine hop bitterness and hop resin that is filled around the edges with a less than desirable sweet red apple note as well as grapefruit and floral hops. This is nice and hoppy and resiny with bitterness but the ester and floral and citrus notes just don’t fit in with the sticky pine hoppiness.

Bottle sample at Calgary beer fest. Clear amber color, white head. Nice floral aroma. Taste is not too bitter for a DIPA.

Bottle: Dark copper/amber pour with a large sandy head. Nose is floral, herbal, and pine. Hints of a malty sweetness, but mosty hops. Taste is mostly floral hops, but there is a strong herbal and earthy presence... reminds me of rye. Sort of a dirty IPA. I’ve had this a few times now, as it’s fairly common in eastern MT, but it’s no world beater.

12oz bottle. Hazy glowing orange-amber body, foamy off-white head. The aroma is quite mild and subdued, some faint cool hops. Mostly malt centered, pretty mild for an Imperial IPA. Cool and crisp mouthfeel, sort of an Imperial APA. Not really off or bad, just intensely pedestrian, with no big flavors to speak of. Balanced, I suppose, but a very tame offering. Bonus ignorance points for using the suffix -ator in a non doppelbock’s name. Sweet, soapy, a touch syrupy as you sip on it. Sub par.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has a lot of sweet citrus with a hint of bitter grapefruit and a backing spiced bread note. Flavor has more of a pure citrus note upfront that is joined by bitter grapefruit and has the same spiced bread backing. Unique.

Bottle: Poured a coppery amber with a cream off white head. Aroma is nice bitter hops, but can also pick out some citrus fruit and malts. Taste is a nice hops bitter up front, nice mix of fruit and malts mellow it a bit. Drank nicely overall and hide the alcohol well.
