Trouble in paradise! A frivolous damsel enters the scene. It is a young lady that over a few months matured in oak wine barrels, which gave her a deep but soft-bitter tannin aftertaste. The taste is full and complex because the brewers induced a controlled souring during the ripening process. The Mam´zelle is by origin a blond beer. Ripening gave her a soft red glow. This is the reason why she is called ‘high-blond’. The alcohol percentage is 8.5 volume. Brewers maintain that she is ‘untameable’.

hazy ornge colour, moderate sized off-white head; aroma and taste of tart, balsamic acid, apple, leather, some bread and caramel, woody, fruity and a bit too intensive acetone notes; more like a Belgian sour ale than a Belgian strong ale; anyway, it is really good

Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a slightly hazy gold orange with one-finger of foam. Oak aromas stand out with some pear, apple, vanilla and light cream (lacto?). Tart on the palate with yogurty, lacto notes as well. Wood and green fruit notes as well. Finish is creamy and dry, very sherry-like. Solid.

Hazy blond color, small creamy head. The aroma is very promising, I start thinking of Drie Fonteinen. Smooth, highly carbonated, sour, lemony, with a mild fruity presence. Penetrating. Almost a Lambic.
Excellent.

Bottled. Slightly hazy orange colour, small white head. Aroma is malts, citrus, some toffee, funk, yeast and mild cheesy notes. Flavour is wood, citrus, toffee, some tart wood and mild citrusy acidic notes. Not sure if this is intended sour/tart, but it kinda suits the beer.

clear yellow, smooth white head. spicy and sourish aroma, hay, yeasty like a saison, but also sourish notes, likely from the wood. Flavor is yeasty, yeasty spicy, fruity and sourish from wood, as well as some faint herbal bitter notes. Kinda interesting beer which seem to have taken a lot of flavor from the wood and medoc. Alc. is pretty well hidden, and the beer appears refreshing although it is a tad heavy.

Had this months ago. Pours golden, a bit of foam. Looks actually like a bit hazy lager. Nose is great - sour, cider, a bit of leather. Taste is quite sour, hard to say what is the style. Bitterly sour, bitter, something skunky in the finish. Not sure if I like that skunky part but still exciting beer to try.

330ml bottle, thanks to Jefverstraete! Pours a murky orange with minimal creamy head. Aroma is sour blood orange. Taste is sour cream soda with lots of vanilla and icing. Captivating, excellently blended and very refreshing.
