Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy peach-orange color with a medium sized creamy-soapy orange-white head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was tangy and sweet caramel and pine needles. The flavor was spruce, pine needles, and had a tangy and sweet undertone of caramel and honey. Medium length tangy finish of spruce and caramel. Moderately full bodied. Ok.

On tap at the rivertowne Irwin. No real noticeable aroma. Looks like yer typical pale beer. thin scummy head. First taste makes you think there is gonnah be lots of co2 but it turns out to be some kinda biting flavor in there. Unique in taste but not toofar off from what we know to be beer. Yes that bting thing, which is not sour, keeps sizing up the palate. Finish is medium dull hops, even tho I see they don’t use hops to flavor this. Yes, the spruce and molasses do give it a hop effect, interesting to note. . Cannot detect much spruce inthere. Overall, I would say this a typical good apa, but now I see this is listed as a traditional ale style. Probably a little more personality than the typical trad. Can’t touch east end kvass or penssyltucky . nor does it come close to Darbyste.

Bottle courtesy of Eric at Churchkey, thanks! Hazy golden color, small white edge head. Aroma of subtle pine. Taste is earthy pine.
