Can. (3.8% version). Huge head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are malt, caramel, nuts and fruits.

Originally rated February 2005. From the brewers of Guinness. Smithwick’s poured an amber-brown colour with an off-white creamy head that had very good retention. Carbonation was heavy with tiny bubbles and lacing was great. The aroma was of malt and very smooth. The taste was very well-balanced with a smooth start and then a kicking bitterness from the hops. The finish was creamy. A great easy to find session beer in most bars, but don’t forget when time to order that the "w" in Smithwick’s is silent.

Draught at The Gate Clock, Dublin Airport. On the browner side of copper colour, clear, small head. Fruity nose with some vegetables. Mid sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeel. A slight roastiness, but mostly it’s a general, lagerlike fruitiness that dominates this beer. Low-medium bitterness.

On tap at any Irish pub. Got mine in Portsmouth, NH. Clear amber-brownish color. Thin creamy head. Malty aroma. Malty taste with a bitter ending. it’s a pretty good ale.

Poured from 12 oz bottle, enjoyed during Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals. It’s OK. Malty, aroma and taste wise. It’s totally average.

Draught at Durty Nellies in Bunratty. Amber brown color—a typical Irish red ale. Fruity, decently malty aroma and flavor, with a dryish finish. Refreshing and flavorful, though not really extraordinary. Like Kilkenny but better. Not a really full-flavored ale, though.

Grabbed a pint while eating lunch at O’lunney’s irish pub in midtown. i like the bar but they don’t have the greatest on tap selection. i enjot smithwicks its malty and not bad way to pass the luncheon hour on friday afternoon.

From tap at Fiddlers Green. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is dark malty and light butterish. Roasted and malty flavoured. Bitter and medium dry into a roasted finish.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a glass. Pours a clear light brown with a small off-white head, and very little lacing. The taste is light roasty slightly floral/fruity malt and a hint of molasses.
