On tap at Bottlworks Taproom. Black with beige head. Caramel, some chocolate, bit weird caramel bitterness. Expected more.

Rich dark brown coloured body with a nice two centimetre tall creamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, resinous hops and a lot of chocolate and piney scents that show some alcohol as well. Medium-bodied; Rich malty flavour at first with the roast the strongest and then some coffee and chocolate complexities come through - then the bitterness from the hops really shines through with an almost fruity finish and a touch of alcohol near the end. Aftertaste is rich and enjoyable with some sweetness from fruit and chocolate and still a lot of bitterness make this a very nice drink. Overall, a nice Black IPA with a solid profile and smooth complexities throughout. Well worth trying if you can find it! I sampled this sixteen ounce pour on draught during a Schlafly Tap Takeover Event at Whole Foods in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 17-February-2017 for US$4,00 at the end of my driveway!

Draft at Sedona, 8/14/14. Pours a clear dark orange with a medium sized creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of citrus, earthy hops, roasted malt. The taste is roasted malt, herbal and citrus hops, bubblegum and nutty notes. Medium bodied.

Draft at bottle works during RBSG. From notes. Coffee and chocolate with a nice dose of herbal hops. Pretty darn good.

On tap at the brewery. Roast and cocoa with moderate low floral hops. Dark brown with slight garnet highlights and taupe head. Taste is overt roast and slight floral hops.
