Small shortlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet and roasted, dark malts, caramel, chocolate, coffee, grass, hay, unripe banana. Taste is slightly dry, roasted grain, hops, puffed rice, hay, yeast, chocolate, burnt caramel, coffee, grass. Medium bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel. A little high on carbonation. Boring.

Torst, NY tap ($4): Pours a dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma is dark chocolate, hops, pretzels, and roasted malts. Taste is much the same. Beer is a bit sweet, with a nice roasty bitterness. Nice aftertaste that really brings out the soft pretzel flavor.

On tap at Paradiso P Street. Pours a viscious, opaque black with some soft off white head. Nose is a nice mix of chocolate, malt, light licorice, brown sugar and more yeasty notes, tea leaves, lightly burnt toast, black pepper. Flavor is well balanced too, sweet, malty, chocolate, toasted bread, black pepper, lightly herbal, yeasty. Dry, roasty finish. A very nice compliment of roasted malts and yeast.

Tap at Meridian Pint for CBC. Thanks everyone! Poured a dark ruby brown color, small off-white head. Aroma was some mild malts, herbal notes with a bit of roast. Flavor was roasted notes, some herbal characters. Coffee notes. Was pretty good.
