Tap at Nakameguro. Dark brown black colour, golden thin bubbly head. Aroma is lots of smoke, bit meaty, lots of roast and strangely a bit of citrus too. Taste is solid dark and malty, smoke, meat. Bit of bitterness. Quite smooth. Nice enough, half is enough though.

Pours black with a large, light tan head.Nose shows roasted barley and soft toasty malt with a bit of smoke in there too.More roasted and smoke as flavours but with some sweet malt underneath.Nice creamy mouthfeel. Not bad but not all that interesting or enticing.

On tap at Craft Beer Base. It poured like a classic stout, dark black with a nice tan head. The aroma was not so noticeable and the flavor was good but mild. It is easy to drink and honestly I couldn’t pick up on any smokiness but some of the people I was with did... ok.

dark brown color. Nice roasty mouth with some subtle underlying smokiness and dark fruit. Light bodied. Very drinkable for a smoked ale. Enjoyable without blowing me away

Tap at Bashamichi. Glowing pitch black. Low, bubbly head. Restrained nose: coffee, wood, dark chocolate, some cream. Creamy chocolate flavor, a bit of licorice, light smoke, but quite roasty. Nice balance.
