Buchanan's Wee Heavy is a bold, traditional Scottish-style ale brewed for slow sipping and good company. Deep mahogany in colour with ruby highlights, it pours with a creamy tan head and rich aromas of caramelized sugar, toasted malt, dark fruit and a hint of toffee. On tap at the brewery. Pours a nice brown red, little tan head to ring and lacing. Bready toasted malt, mildly sweet with a foral hint, mildly but pervasive bitterness that coats the tongue. Generally pretty good, but doesn't wow.
