The night is dark, rolling fog sweeps over a placid sea as a mysterious ship sails into harbour bringing the most precious of cargos…. Imperial Smoked Oyster Stout.
Perhaps our most eccentric brew, Smoking Brigantine is a strong, dark ale brewed with a blend of specialty roasted malts bringing robust notes of charred toast, leathery tobacco and dark fruits. Additions of dark sugar, whole Whitstable Rock Oysters and Bullion hops in the boil contribute candied sweetness, hefty bitterness and a distinct salty, minerality. We conditioned the beer on whiskey soaked oak spirals for six weeks adding delicious vanilla and spice notes that pair wonderfully with the smokey malt character.
A beer to be savoured.

Can. The last one of a shit load picked up by my mate Daz off his hols a bit back. Waxed can! Pours surprisingly thin cola brown but sits in the glass nearly black, with a slim dense ring of tan. Quite the transformation. Nose on this is quite extraordinary. Salty sweet savoury chocolate vanilla leathery honeyed cakey vibe. Taste is similarly bonkers. Saline, light caramel sweet, and dry and semi bitter. Slick and easy drinking. There’s some adept brewing happened here. Glorious stuff.
