Sea Dragon is a Pale Ale that pours a golden color with a crest of foam above the glass. We return again to the English Pearl malt for its sweet and doughy characteristics, wonderfully displayed in this fluffy body. A hand-selected blend of Citra, Anchovy, and Idaho 7 lends notes of grapefruit, raspberry, ripe papaya, and bright pine.

Pours a moderately hazy, gold-banana color, with mid-sized head. Aroma is citrus and tropical fruit, with some pepper, grass, pine. Flavors are citrus and tropical fruit, with a bit of dry wine, some pine and grass. Mouthfeel is fairly crisp and clean. Moderate hop bitterness in the finish. Kind of a cloudy West Coast IPA.

Earthy, a touch musty, subtle. Muted stone fruit and black tea. LOTS of I7 here...nice. Per the commercial description, I DO get a good deal of raspberry on the finish. And the fruitiness seems to increase, while the I7 character decreases, as it warms/breathes, which is interesting. Not really getting a distinct malt profile, given that they are trying to highlight this Pearl malt. I get the dough, not so much the sweet/honey/bread.
Yeah, more doughy than clean/clear and rich. Not your typical honey and cracker, that's for sure. Raspberry leaf, more tea, more earth, soft spice, easygoing fruitiness and low but supportive bitterness. An odd duck, but certainly interesting and by no means off/bad. Not wholly sold on this malt, though. In addition to the doughiness, the texture is just a bit too flimsy for my liking. That said, I think it's so important that TH continues to make experimental beers like this; they can't all be pillowy, dank, juice bombs.
