Bottle. Pours a clean clear gold in color with a thin white head. Aroma is of floral hops and pale bready malts. Taste is of light grains and lemony? hops. Clean and crisp with lively carbonation. As the last reviewer said... Think of this as a hopped up pilsner and its just great.

Golden copper with a white head. Aroma is fruity, apple, malty, light yeast, and sweet. Medium thin body. Flavor is sweet fruity, light malts, light floral notes. Lightly bitter finish. Easy going pale. A bit surprised it is 6% abv, doesn’t taste like it. Enjoyable.

Slightly hazy medium gold color topped by a medium-sized bubbly white head. Light grainy malt aroma. Subtle Notes of fresh hay and citrus hops. Crisp toasted malt flavor with dryish notes. Toasted nuts and black pepper in the mid taste. Medium-bodied yet light and drinkable. Finish is dry and bitter and the spicy hops shine here. Long dry aftertaste.

Pours a crystal clear medium golden color with a medium sized white head that dissipates fairly quickly. The aroma is not what I expected. Lots of bready and pilsner malt with hints of citrus, floral, and grassy hop aromas with a touch of chalk. The flavor is bready pils and a sweet light sugar with a hint of grassy earthy citrus hops. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet slick mouthfeel. This was not at all what I expected it was going to be, it drinks more like a pilsner than an ale to me. I enjoyed this, it would make a great lawnmower or gateway beer.

Bottle. Orange and sour barley malt aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Honey, lemon, barley malt and lightly bitter floral orange hops flavor. Very nice - wish I could have tried the original.

Pours clear golf into a shaker. Bright white head with good retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Caramel and candy corn aromas. Sour corn and candy corn front to back. Lasting sour earth finish.

12oz bottle. Interesting brew for its history and whatnot, but without even knowing what it was, I was shocked to find out after smelling it that this was an ale - got grassy, slightly skunky notes that seemed a lot more like a lager. This would probably be pretty refreshing in the summer on a hot day, but not when it is 30 degrees outside.

Thanks to Sam Adams for recreating this recipe. Hopefully it turned out like the original, but I guess I’ll never know for sure. 12 ounce bottle from Beer Run. Pours a clear golden color with a thin fizzy off-white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of herbal hops and pale, lightly toasted malts. The taste is herbal hops, pale malts, faint apple notes. Medium bodied. Decent, but I can imagine this would be earth shattering in a world of pale lagers.

Draught pint at Sunset Grill on 6/7/07
Quite a deep, chestnut-auburn for a pale ale, though with some lighter bronze tints. Off-white head is moderate-sized, with medium to poor retention and blotchy lacing. High clarity.
Weak, soggy, old, dirty hops in the nose are quite repugnant from the get go and the crusty, hard, crystal malts certainly don’t pick up any slack. There isn’t much more to say, sadly. This was supposed to be a robust pale ale, but I dont know what went wrong. Right away, I suspect Sunset of keeping the stuff too long, but it’s hard to justify that, as the beer only came out about a month and that’s hardly cause for concern. And the tap lines dont seem to be a problem, as the beer wasnt infected nor was there any diacetyl. Just too much crystal malt and tacky caramel sweetness, with vague, citrusy, old hops. Didn’t finish the glass.
