The IPA was fashioned to survive the long voyage from England to India during the British colonization. Hops, hops, and more hops! Red Racer IPA has an intense aroma and a long lingering finish. A beer for the connoisseur, this is the brewmaster’s choice.

Stamped on the bottom of the can reads \"Oct 02, 2014.\" By the way this smells, tastes and feels, I’m guessing born on date. I’m still unfamiliar with how Central City date stamps, oh well, here’s the rest.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice looking clear copper color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. Sporadic yet semi-thick lacing glazes around the glass.
The smell had a super nice fresh citrus melding into a grapefruit edge and then brining in a big bitter to sweet pine kick at the end.
The taste took all of those flavors to combine to bittersweet bliss. Light dry citrus aftertaste leads into a dry semi-citrus finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a super nice sessionability about it. For 6.5%, it doesn’t necessarily feel it. The carbonation is good for the style and for me. Still, a nice bittersweet dryness rolled over my palate.
Overall, very good for the AIPA style, so glad to have a couple more to pair with food. Stellar job, Central City and thank you for thinking of Alaska to send this!

This was always poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice hazy golden yellow to orange color with a good one finger white foamy head that ended up allowing a nice speckled white sticky lacing.
The smell had a nice blend of citrus sweet yet spicy and sometimes bitter hops. Light malts do end up showing their face just a bit as it warms.
The taste takes those flavors and just pretty much blends them pretty good.
On the palate, this one sits about a light to medium and shows a pretty good sessionability about it. The carbonation seems to be appropriate for the style and for me as there’s a good harshness invading my tongue.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good AIPA well worthy of having again.

650 ML bottle thanks to Eric S. For this share. Super hazy Amber color with lasting head. Aroma is floral, pine and citrus. Pretty nice array of hop variety.
Flavor is very hop forward, pine, grapefruit and lemons with a decent malt body to provide balance. Has some zesty notes in the lingering bitterness as well. This was a very nice surprise and has a West Coast profile, very nice.

Can from Whole Foods Market, Bowery, New York, NY. A dark orange/amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, orange, grapefruit aroma. Tastes similar, hoppy, orange, grapefruit, bitter/sweet. Must be the best canned beer that I’ve had. Complex and seriously good stuff from Central City Brewing.

Pour is a hazy reddish with a small white head. Aroma is spicy hops with some earthy but sweet malts. Flavor is decent strong almost dark fruit malt. Some raison is detected. Hops are there but take a back seat to the rich malty backbone. This was decent. Not a real hop bomb but more of an English IPA.

Can from the LCBO. For my last day in Montreal I decided to have this. Wow the aroma really lives up to this beer’s reputation with a wonderful hop aroma that assaults your nose. A deep copper color. It has a thick viscous mouthfeel. The taste is a clean sharp bitter pine with a solid malt backbone. Good stuff.
