Bottle [2012 edition] @ home. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized quickly diminishing dark brown head. Aroma is malts, bourbon, bourbon sweetness, vanilla. Lovely. Flavor is dark malts, soft roast, loads of bourbon, vanilla, pretty sweet bourbon flavor flowing into chocolate and light mocha before ending with a moderate malt-slight booze bitter finish. Medium body, oily and lightly sticky texture, soft carbonation. Good beer for sure, but I was so blown away (4.7) by the original that perhaps my expectations were a little too high. Thoroughly enjoyed it though.

Bottle thanks to Eric. Pours a very dark brown with no head. The aroma is wood and chocolate. Thin mouthfeel with strong roast, wood, dark chocolate, very good.

Kentucky Fried Charleston Trip Beer #72. Draft at Brewvival. Pours an inky dark brown color with a thin white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, wood, vanilla, bourbon. The taste is big bourbon notes, vanilla, wood, chocolate, roasted malts, herbal hops. Quite nice.

Draft at Brewvival. Completely black, thick brown head. Aroma of vanilla, burnt espresso, chocolate. Taste is very roasty with brandy and vanilla, but not boozy at all. Very nice stuff.

2010 vintage. 22 oz. bottle, sent from CooperEllis (thanks a lot, John), pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of the buffalo trace barrels upfront, tar and charcoal. Flavour brings out the barrels upfront without overburdening the palate, with some smoked malt, charcoal and almost a sour tang to it, likely from the barrels - not much actual bourbon, just the presence of some sort of barrel aging. A slight improvement from the original, as to increase the complexity. But still sub-par for the style.

Draft at Brewgrass. Black with a tall, dark tan head. Big malty, bourbon aroma. Sweet start with a touch of bitterness at the end. The bourbon touch is just right, not weak, not overpowering. Excellent BA beer.
