New South’s White Ale is an American interpretation of a classic Belgium wheat ale. This light and refreshing ale is brewed with just a hint of a orange zest. Like all of New South’s draft ales and lagers, our White Ale is always fresh and satisfying.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a pale yellow color with a medium sized fluffy white head that left good lacing. The aroma was dryish, citric, musty and a bit phenolic. The flavor was tangy, a bit yeasty, a touch musty and lightly citric. Medium length finish. Medium body.

Can, mostly clear and pale. Fairly smooth at first. Has a wit bier attitude but that orange zest is uncalled for. Makes it a little bitter in deh end.

Refrigerated 12 oz. aluminum can poured into a weizen glass. Slightly hazy golden with small white head. Aroma is light grain, light body, medium/light carbonation, and pretty good small-bubble lacing. Taste is wheat esters and a little orange zest.

A lightly hazed blonde wit with a thin white head. In aroma, light fruity malt with light esters, herbaceous character, light hop, so-so. In mouth, a sweet fruity malt with light cloves, juniper, light grassy hops, orange pulp, OK.

Can. Very light sour wheat malt aroma. Slightly hazed yellow with a large white head. Sour malt and light grassy flavor - very lagerish tasting, and not in a good way. Light body, moderate carbonation.

Location: Draft at T-Bonz Charleston, 12/8/12

Aroma: There’s not a ton here, some wheat notes and not much else
Appearance: It pours a pale gold color, a little hazy, with no head or lace to it
Flavor: It tastes similar to the nose, but a hint better, wheat, yeast, and lemon
Palate: This one has pretty light body, with a fairly dull but fine feel, and a short duration
Overall Impression:  This was really not that much of a beer. The 1/3 of a pint I drank was more than enough for me.
