Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is oak and dark fruit. Thin mouth, similar flavors to nose, roast, light tart finish, decent.

Corked bottle at CapFlu’s Blomster Bash
Dark brown color. Nice mix of chocolate and sourness, some old wood, light wine. Good chocolate flavor, medium sweet, with mild sourness.
Very nice.

Bottle - Sour dark malts with some lacto. Jet black with a brown head. Funky, sour dark malts, oak and a dry finish. Very odd, but interesting.

Bottle shared at The Bruery - thanks to Andrew! Pours clear brown with a creamy, tan head. Lots of raisins here, cake, lightly oxidised character, dark bread, some wood. Medium to full in body with fine average carbonation. Lightly warming to finish with ripe and dark berries, toffee, some tangy fruits. Not bad.

From the 12/2013 3R6P gathering +++ Sampled from a 750 ml corked brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a large foamy beige head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was bourbon, coconut and vanilla. The flavor was tart, sour and lactic with notes of dark fruits, red wine, coconut, chocolate and vanilla. Long tar t and sour finish with lingering red wine and coconut. Moderately full bodied. Interesting.

Black pour with a tan head. Roasty, slightly tart fruity aroma. The flavor is much more roast malts than sourness. The sour is more like a light tang than full on sour. Dry roasty malt flavor. The roast malt flavor is neither sweet nor bitter. Hides the alcohol well.

Bottle shared by me at Max’s, even with the local crew from that other beer site, I forget its name. Clear dark brown color, massive brown head, solid lacing. Aroma of sour whiskey. Taste is vanilla, sour brandied summer fruit. A bit too long in the barrel, so a bit too much booze in the taste, but that’s a minor point otherwise tasty.

850th Virginia Rating! 750 mL bottle from Beer Run. Pours a clear dark brown color with a large foamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of chocolate, bourbon, earth, stone fruits, mild tartness. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, bourbon, wood, lots of fruits, mild tartness. Medium bodied. Nice beer, but the sourness lends more of a fruity note than any real sour.
