Post Meridian is a German-style Schwarzbier, a black lager native to Thuringia and East-Central Germany. Brewed in collaboration with Meridian Pint, this traditional black lager style was preserved behind the Iron Curtain in East Germany before it’s popularity in the West. Our interpretation is black with a full chocolatey and roasty flavor from imported Weyermann German malt. Hops are German Hersbrucker and Perle, but just enough to balance the malt.

On tap at Meridian Pint. Poured a very dark brown color with a wispy off-white head. Aroma was coffee and nicely roasted malt notes. Touch of dark chocolates, nuts, some earthy hops. Flavor was roasted malts, some light hops. This was pretty drinkable, especially on the hot summer day.
