Dec. ’16. A 0.33 l bottle at Brewdog Rome. It poured a pitch black body with a medium sized but persistent brown head. Very strong aroma of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate, light peat and some dark bread. Flavor was strong, lightly sweet, salty, sour, bitter... Well, better to say a little bit of everything. Salt note was admittedly weird at first, soon it blended with very peaty, whisky-ish character. Still, not that alcoholic as ABV and whisky barrel aging would suggest, being relatively smooth on palate. Initially strongest malty sweetish chocolate and roasted coffee notes fell into second plan with tingling barrel aging notes, too. Still there, with dried fruits, mixing into a liquor of everything mentioned. Full bodied with longer finish, where peat, dried fruit and chocolate were most durable. Much more complex than initial aroma would suggest. A serious, well made IS with an accent to peat and strength.

Bottle 0.33l. Brown to black colored. AROMA- whisky, dark chocolate, pralines. FLAVOR- moderately sweet, pleasantly bitter, smooth alcohol, pralines, whisky, cocoa powder, roasted cocoa powder. Long bitter finish. Fuller bodied.
Delicious.

On tap at CBC 2016, red session. Pours black with brown head. Malty, roasted, dark fruit, chocolate, wood, vanilla, whisky. Sweet. Warming. Oily and quite smooth. Full bodied. Excellent, really better than expected.

Smell of red berroes, mämmi. Black colour, minimal head. Aroma of tar, mämmi, vanilla, red berries, oak, licorice. A myriad of other flavours. Very bitter. Medium carbon, slightly burning palate. Very balanced.

Bottle thanks to Mick. Pours a dark brown color with a small white head. A big sugary sweet huge barrel nose. The flavor is huge dark fruit, vanilla, whiskey, smoke. Very good. Hot but drinkable. Very good. Excellent palate.

Draft. Ba black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of alcohol and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, wood, soy sauce, and roasted malt, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma seems a light single malt - but maybe Irish? Med body or so. Light heat. Solid chocolate contrasting with smoke/peat. This is so not Irish. Yet it’s gentle in the mouth. Not quite dry. Far from bitter. Very nice.
