19/XI/17 - 1Pt. 0.9Fl. Oz. bottle from a trade, shared @ home - BB: n/a, spring 2015 vintage (2017-1890) Thanks to Amy for the trade!

Clear dark brown beer, big irregular creamy beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lovely stuff, sweetish, lots and lots of chocolate, some caramel, cocoa powder. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots of chocolate, alcohol, cocoa powder, sweetish, malty, some molasses, spicy touch. Aftertaste: chocolate, malty, mocha, vanilla, caramel, soft bitterness from the hops. Nice stuff!

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Amit. Spring 2015 bottle. Black with a tan head. Great aroma of chocolate, dark fruits, wood, vanilla. Bittersweet flavor with chocolate, roast, wood, fruitiness. Full-bodied. Really good.

Draft at the taproom. Solid black color with a smallish tan head that dissipates rather quickly. Rich chocolate, caramel, light roast, molasses, and earth with a faint but distinct vinous note that rounds the nose out nicely. Sweet malty chocolate and toffee with hints of molasses and roast. Non descript vinous note balances with a faint earthy hop flavor. Thick body with a creamy silky mouthfeel and a light level of carbonation. Nice stout, worth waiting in line for.
