Clear red amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, melanoid malt, liquorice, laurierdrop, malts. Light bitter flavour, laurierdrop, quite dry. Malty. Quite full body. Caramel finish, burned sugar, liquorice. Feels like a crossover between a barleywine and a bitter. I don’t quite like bocks in general, but.. I’ll have another bock please! Nice!

2013 edition (7.5%, so I’m filing it under this one). Dark red-brown color. Small beige head with some retention & lacing. Aroma’s: sweet dark malts, red fruit, also roasted malts and laurel/drop retronasal. Flavor is moderate sweet and somewhat roasted, drop. Fairly full bodied. Finishes with heavy roast, ash even, and a soft bitterness. Interesting.

Bottle @ benzai thx to benzai. Copper colour, no head. Smells overripe fruits, raisins, sweet, malts. Tastes a bit sour, yoghurt, red fruits. Don’t like it. I don.t thin they wanted this taste. Medium body, tingling carbo.

Bottle at In de Wildeman, Amsterdam, vintage 2010, bb 30-09-12
Black color, creamy head. Good caramelly beer, with some chocolate, to which the aging added depth and not oxidisation; shades of liquorice. Notes of Porto wine.
Mature and complex.
