Sampled at GABF. Pours an inky black with some ringing tan head. Nose of chocolate, raisins, black pepper, malt, toast. Flavor is peppery, raisin, interesting ancho notes, malt, molasses, cakey. Boozy finish. The pepper is nice but just a touch too much sugar.

Tap @ La Cumbre. Pours a black/dark brown appearance with a dark brown head. Quite spicy, big anise, rich dark chocolate, a touch boozy aroma. Chewy dark chocolate, a touch minty, sprucey, roasted malty flavor with a thick mouth feel. Nice stuff! Tasted again at GABF and was equally impressed.

Draft at the source, courtesynof erway - thank you sir! Very dark maroon brown color, beige head. Aroma of roasted vanilla, espresso. Taste has lots of roastiness, dark coffee, tannins, bittersweet toffee. Very nice.
