The Brown Ale style originated in the pubs of England, where beer drinkers desired a beer that was both flavorful and complex, but at the same time mild enough to be a session beer. The Santa Fe Brewing Company's interpretation of this style uses a combination of high mash temperature, hard water, and low-alpha acid hops to produce a product that is both true to the style and distinctly Santa Fe. Brewing jargon aside, Santa Fe Nut Brown Ale is an easy-drinking beer, mild, smooth, and always a favorite. Try a keg at your next party!
Malts: 2-row pale, 30-37 l. Carastan, Chocolate
Hops: Willamette

This came in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark brown color with red highlights and a large creamy dark tan head. The aroma was roasty, toasty and and lightly bitter with a floral hop note. The flavor was nutty, roasty, malty and had a hint of fruity hops and chocolate. The finish was long, nutty and malty. Nice.

Pour is a nice brown with a small tan head. Aroma is of a small but decent amount of roasted malts. Flavor is light but some chocolate malts are there but again very light, no real hops are present. Easy to drink but not much here.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a medium light tan head. The aroma is a roasted malt. The taste is a bit watery roasted malt with a sweet caramel finish. Nothing special with this brown ale.

Bottle from cpkschubert; nose of caramel with a little coffee, and a sour note; Brown with a small beige head; Flavor is a little coffee, caramel, and some tartness; a disappointment after the Oak Creek Nut Brown I just drank and rated.

12 oz bottle Pours out a nut brown. With off white head. The aroma has bitterness to it as well as the beer. Not good and still have not found anything to match Rogue HazelNut Brown Nectar.

Bottle Pours a slightly hazy dark redish brown with a sandy head and spotty lacing. Astringent slightly sour leathery aroma. Flavor tastes burnt and sour. Lightly roasted woody thin and sour. I hope this is not how it is supposd to be. A por showing for a style that I generally am forgiving of. Very soft carbonation and a smooth albiet thin palate.
