Brown Ale at its best. Brewed with two-row, crystal, Gambrinus honey, and chocolate malt, and hopped with Cascade to balance towards the sweeter side. Enjoy it with your meal.
Brown ales originated in England and were the staple ale of 17th century English taverns. They were usually brewed on site, or by a local widow or housewife. The Tavern model as community social, political, economic and judicial center of activity was repeated in colonial America, a tradition AleWerks supports.

Dark brown pour from bottle. Loaded with Chewy malts and a very chocolatey finish for the style.

Bottle. Was very surprised how good this one was. Dark brown in color with a very, light tan head. Aroma was a toasted malt, slightly chocolate smell. Taste was a very pleasant malty, toasted nut with hints of chocolate. Nice.

Bottle from Food Dog, drunk while grilling steak in Palmyra. Dark brown, small head, nutty sweet nose. Flavor is pretty sweet, hints of brown sugar, decent bitterness but it's more on the sweet side of balance. Moderate complexity.
