12 oz bottle courtesy of dkachur-pours a rich light tan head with amber color. Aroma is light/medium malt-cocoa/peat, slight sweetness. Taste is light/medium malt-cocoa/peat (English), slight sweetness. At the finish a slight hint of hops, yeast (&diacytl?). Minimum carbonation. An easy Mild.

12oz bottle. Thick amber-brown color. Very thick bodied, with a strong, pungent amber malt taste. Delicately hopped, allowing the malt to take center stage. The sourness in the beer is very enjoyable and complex. Good example of a malty American Amber Ale.

Bottle from Once Upon a Vine North in Richmond. Hazy pour is the color of Boston baked beans. Fruity aroma with caramel, toffee and berry notes. Taste is hoppy with berry and sour cherry notes along with a malty finish. A little on the thin side. Some people below seem to be getting sour notes and some are not. I did. Do we have infection issues again?
Update: fewer infection issues in the second bottle from the same sixer. Rating updated accordingly.

Nice slightly hazy ruby tinted deep caramel body with a thinnish off-white head. Aroma of grapes, malt, yeast and a bit of candy sugar. Light-bodied; Strong grape flavour coupled with malt and a bit of raisin flavour. Aftertaste shows a very light bodied beer with most of the taste just on the malt. Overall, a light beer that should be drunk on a hot summer day on the water (due to the name & front of the beer). I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors on 03-May-2008, on the Eastern Shore of Virginia on 26-May-2008.
