This beer began life as a heritage saison, brewed using historic Plumage Archer barley and aged in our Funk Dungeon in ex-wine French Oak barrels. We then blended this base onto the pomace of beautiful English Pinot Noir grapes, grown by Matt Gregory Wines in the Leicestershire Wolds and pressed by nomadic winemaker Paris Barghchi.
Expect an elegant acidity with flavours of tart, crunchy apple and sharp raspberry sherbet, combined with jammy redcurrant and plum. Earthy undertones of rich tannins bring balance, before a lick of sweet vanilla ensures a clean and rounded overall finish.

MCR July Specials Beer#22. My only Manchester drinking day this month so a sweep of the one-offs. A drab hazy golden amber-colour, I wasn't sure I even wanted to try this beer tray-fulfilling brew as my beer goggles had reached no longer care mode, despite four more planned for the day. Tangy on first try, and second, a farmhouse beer in design, its gentle sour character was fine enough, and I'd have enjoyed it more if 20 other brews hadn't have come before it.
