750 c&c from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours golden amber with a foamy white head. Aroma is fresh, light pitted fruit with interesting malt. Full bodied. Flavor is very intense, but hard to dissect. Arguably a bit nutty. It’s earthy, but not really barnyard. It has sweet malt, but it also tends towards dry. It’s not exactly astringent, but my mouth wants to say it is. It gets a bit earthier with time. It seems very rich, and rich is not a term I’d usually use for a "blonde". Tho it’s in the description. Quite an impressive ale.

The Ginger Man, NY tap ($10): Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is lightly of honey, a bit of farmhouse funk, and plenty of malt. Taste is honey sweetness. There be some dryness. A modicum of hops. Easily drinkable, but this is not a very memorable beer.

Refrigerated 750 mL brown bottle corked and capped from the rare beer club poured into a tulip. Pours clear copper with three inch fluffy head. Thin small bubble lacing, medium/thin body, medium carbonation, and caramel malt aroma. Taste is caramel malt, earthy bread, spicy yeast and slightly bitter/astrigent hops. Not spectacular, but easy to drink.

Draft. Clear golden color, large bubble edge head. Aroma of lightly and pleasantly spiced hay and malt. Taste is bitter rye bread. Decent enough.

Bottle. Amber beer with a cream head. Yeast and slightly sweet malt aroma. Sweet malt and spice flavor with yeast and light fruitiness. Medium bodied. Sweet malt/light caramel lingers with yeast, spice, and light earthiness.
