This baltic porter is built utilizing exclusively dehusked dark malts to provide clean chocolate, coffee and light dark fruit characters without any of the roast characters from darker kilned malts. Similar crystal profile to Bent Hill's imperial maple stout however this beer is fermented at lager temperatures to help create a smoother finish profile.

16 oz can in a trade with tfontana. Aroma is chocolate, malt, mild char, and a hint of vanilla. Flavor has strong roasted chocolate malt, coffee hints, mild ash. The chocolate malt is very present. Some mild bitterness in the finish for balance.
Overall, this is without a doubt the best beer Iβve sampled from this brewery. Thanks Tom!

Can from Beverage Warehouse. Virtually opaque dark brown, nice sparkle, lots of large floaties, thin head with fair retention, trace lacing. Aroma is strong sweet malt, chocolate, roasted coffee. Taste is strong roasted coffee, chocolate, sweet malt, hint of dark fruit. Smooth, creamy texture, full body, average carbonation, roasty finish. They delivered what they advertised. Tasty!

Reviewed from notes.
Can to snifter.
Appearance: dark brown close to black color with a finger and a half's worth of khaki foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: malted coffee sweetness, dark fruity lager-ish sweet notes, milk chocolate and an ever so slight note of vanilla wafery character
Flavor: does a pretty good job blending the prior noted aromas to a fine variety of different sweetnesses; finishes dark fruity with some vanilla wafers and milk chocolate
Texture: light to medium bodied; leaning towards being a sipper - hmmmm...kinda sorta; great level of smoothness and good carb level
Overall: pretty nicely done Baltic porter I'd be willing to come back to.
