Made with imported 2 row Vienna and Munich German malts and whole flower German hops. Subtly sweet with a delicate malt nose, our Festbier gains its impressive body from our use of all imported German malts and decoction brewing process.

I enjoy oktoberfests as a style so figured for weekday session drinking I’d grab a sixer of this. Pours bright copper with light head that quickly dissipates. Nose is of toasted malt. Tastes of malt, biscuits, earth, toast, light caramel, and good old fashion Oktoberfest goodness

MET Supermarket, Brooklyn ($11): Pours an amber color with a good looking head. Aroma is mostly malty with some notes of hops. It gives you a pretty basic sense of how this is gonna taste, which is also malty with a few sweet notes. There is a prominent hop presence, but in the moderation that is in keeping with the style. Definitely a good beer to session with.

Tap at Barcade. I really enjoyed this beer. I think, though, that this beer style is a bit undervalued by many raters. Obviously this doesn’t match up against an imperial stout. This beer was well-balanced between the hops and malts and had a smooth finish. Pleasant aftertaste. Great sessioner.

Draught at Pony Bar, New York
Light amber color. The aroma is too light. It has caramel flavor, but a rather dry mouthfeel, and also a bit dusty. Correct bitterness. The final is dry too. Boring.

12oz bottle. Orange-brown color, filtered. Decent off white head that fades out after a couple of minutes. Amber malt and noble hop aroma. Great balance, this one hits the mark. Smooth and malty with an ever-present hop backdrop. Some crispness upfront, then fades into a mild caramel flavored finish. Subtle, quality beer.
