Made with imported 2 row Vienna and Munich German malts and whole flower German hops. Subtly sweet with a delicate malt nose, our Festbier gains its impressive body from our use of all imported German malts and decoction brewing process.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 12/11/2012. Pours lightly hazy orange copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of pear, apple, caramel, biscuit, toast, toffee, earth, and herbal. Nice aromas with good balance and decent strength. Taste of big pear, toast, caramel, biscuit, toffee, apple, earth, herbal, and light nuttiness. Lingering notes of caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, light fruit, earth, and herbal on the finish for a short bit. Nice balance and robustness of flavors; with no cloying sweetness at all. Medium carbonation and body; with a nice creamy and lightly slick mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very good Oktoberfest lager. Nicely robust with good flavor balance; extremely smooth to drink. Enjoyed this.

Draft at the Pub at Wegmans, King of Prussia, PA. Rather forgetable, bland and sweet. A pleasant enough amber-gold colour but little flavour other than a caramel sweetness.

Tap at Victory, Downington PA - 25/05/12. Dark amber with white head. Sweetish malts at the fore of the nose, backed up by a little hops and straw. Taste follows nose with a little fruit and a puff of smoke in the mix. Medium bodied decent representation of the style.

Bottle. Amber with a light beige head that fades to a coat. Aroma of toffee, bread, toasted nuts. Taste has toffee and nuts, but despite richness it’s not very sweet and has balancing bitterness with mild spices. Solid if unspectacular.

Draft @ the Barley Pub, Dover, NH. Served into a pint. Clear amber, no head or lace. Nose of sweet bread-like malt and light hops. A nice German / Saaz like hops dominate the flavor. A nice standard example of the style.
