Made with imported 2 row Vienna and Munich German malts and whole flower German hops. Subtly sweet with a delicate malt nose, our Festbier gains its impressive body from our use of all imported German malts and decoction brewing process.

Reviewed from notes. Consumed 10/20/2012.
Pours a copper color and leaves the same colored body that yields a soapy half inch white head with a concave clingy lacing riding along the sides of the pint glass. Though the body is extremely clear, no carbonation is seen rising.
The smell has some roasted malt with some super light spice and herbal notes with a bit of hay or rye even lighter and perhaps the faintest of all smells of this beer.
The taste is sweet with a decent dose of caramel presence backed up nicely by some toffee and the roasted malts. Once again, there are some super light spices and herbal notes. That hay/rye thing I guess was only in the smell, no worries.
On the palate, it sits about a medium and is slightly sticky with nothing harsh on the tongue. I would say this is a fairly drinkable beer.
Overall, this is a decent brew that I would probably have again, perhaps not one I’d purposely seek out, but maybe the next time I’d have this, I’d have it on tap.

12 oz bottle purchased at the Total Wine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The pour is clear copper golden with a well formed ½ inch light tan head. The aroma is caramel sweet cereal grain along with a touch of grass. The taste is the sweet malt caramel upfront, turning to grain, then finishing with a dry lightly bitter earthy grass. The palate is light to medium bodied, soft natural carbonation and the dry finish. Really easy drinking, great version of the style.

Bottle. Brown pour with white head. Aroma seemed off, burnt candy. Flavour was wonderful, malty with a caramel nuttiness. Malt finish with a bit of hop

Bottle: Poured a clear amber color beer with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of grainy notes with light dry caramel malt notes. Taste is mostly dominated by grainy cereal notes with a dryer then expected caramel malt finish. Body is about average with good carbonation. Easily drinkable though finish is not as clean as I would have expected.

Bottle. Fresh fruit, floral, caramel malt aroma. Copper with a moderate ivory head. Bready caramel malt with a light fruity/floral hop finish. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation. This is how I like my marzens - malty but with a little bit of a fresh fruity harvest type of thing going on.

On tap at the river road tavern. Pours a deep golden amber color with a smallish off white head with minimal retention and lace. Smells of caramel and bread and a bit of toast with an earthy floral hop component to it. The flavor is bready pilsner malt with a bit of caramel and sweet sugary malt. A bit heavy on the hops for the style, lots of earthy herbal hops compete with an inadequate malt base. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and an earthy slick mouthfeel. Decent enough beer, but like a lot of American interpretations it just doesn’t measure up to the German brewed versions.
