Location: On tap at Professor Thom's (as Thom's Old Ale), 9/15/09
Aroma: Fairly simple caramel malts, light fruit, light hops
Appearance: Pours a decent amber color, with a thin head
Flavor: Similar to the nose, a mostly malty beer, with a thin hop backing
Palate: A medium bodied beer with a short duration
Overall Impression: This is not the most exciting beer, but it is certainly drinkable. I wouldn't go out of my way for it by any means. By the way, don't bother asking the staff at Professor Thom's what beer this is, because they had no idea. One of them told me it was a beer made exclusively for Thom's, but that is not the case, it's simply Harpoon Ale re-named at the bar.

Pours amber into a shaker. Head quickly recedes to nothing. Heavy malt aromas. Fruity and crisp caramel from front to back. Quick, dry finish.

Draught at Brickseller, Washington DC
Golden color; creamy head. Very simple Amber Ale, with just some caramel, and quite watered.

This ale pours a dark yellow colour with a off white foamy head. Orange, lemon and pineapple citrus to the nose. First sip was delicious with flavours of light hops and light citrus. Finish is mild and the palate is very slightly bitter with a slight hop linger.

This is the less alcoholic and less hoppy cousin of the more prevelent Harpoon India Pale Ale. Actually, I prefer this beer to that one. This medium bodied beer goes down smoother and in my humble opinion tastes a little bit better than its close kin. Average and nothing too special, but definately good.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bronze color with a medium sized yellow-white head. The aroma is nutty malts. The flavor is sour and tangy nutty malts with a floral hop element on the finish.

A refreshing enough ale, but nothing here to propel it beyond that. Hazy amber pour with off-white head. More malt than hop in the aroma. The flavor was sweet — caramel. Slightly bitter in the finish. Thin to medium body. Nicely carbonated.

on tap-pours an offwhite head with gold color. Aroma is spice, hops, clove? Taste follows, dry, good effervescence.
