cheers to Mike for the share. pours amber, white head. aroma, nice toasted malts, yeasty some earthiness, not too sure how this one relates to an abbey style. Welcoming aroma, though not to style. flavors, some caramel/biscuit malts, light yeasty notes, not much of the musty/earthiness that usually comes with the Trappist yeast the bottle claims to use. Overly malty with light notes of chocolate, mild dark fruits slowly come through. I am not certain where this one fits in the abbey category, the beer is nice and tasty but I just wasn’t getting much of the signs despite the use of Trappist yeast.

Pour is a dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is there but not in a big way. Some dark fruit with a little alcohol. Flavor is better with a very nice roasted caramel malt followed by some more dark fruit and a chocolate left on the tounge after the swallow. I’m not sure if that’s what they were going with but that’s what i got. Still this is just a so-so dubbel.
